The homeowner was looking for a practical solution to reduce rising electricity expenses while maintaining a more reliable power supply. Daily household energy consumption included air conditioning, lighting, kitchen appliances, refrigeration, and other essential electrical loads.
After evaluating the household’s energy needs and available roof space, a 7.7kW Residential Solar System was selected. The customer also required battery storage to make better use of excess solar energy and provide backup power during grid interruptions.
The final system configuration combines a 7.7kW PV array with a 6kW hybrid inverter and a 5.12kWh battery. This balanced setup provides strong daytime solar generation while supporting essential household loads when solar production is limited or the grid is unavailable.
Installation Process
Following the site assessment and system design, the installation team prepared the rooftop mounting structure and positioned the solar modules for effective sunlight exposure. A total of 14 Amerisolar 550W solar panels were securely installed, creating a 7.7kW PV array. Proper cable routing, waterproof protection, and structural stability were considered throughout the installation to support safe and reliable long-term operation.
The Sunflx IP54 SG 6kW Hybrid Solar Inverter was then installed as the core energy management unit. With its IP54-rated design, the inverter provides enhanced protection against dust and water exposure, making it well suited to demanding residential installation environments. The system was configured to manage energy flow between solar generation, household loads, battery storage, and the utility grid.
To improve solar self-consumption and provide backup power, one Sunflx FlxWall 5.0 lithium battery was integrated, delivering 5.12kWh of usable energy storage. After completing the electrical connections, the system underwent testing, commissioning, and operational checks. Once stable performance was confirmed, the Solar Storage System was successfully put into service.
Project Results
The system is expected to generate approximately 9,500kWh of clean electricity per year, equivalent to an average daily output of around 26kWh. This production is estimated to cover approximately 90% of the household’s energy needs, helping the homeowner significantly reduce reliance on grid electricity.
The homeowner’s monthly electricity bill is projected to decrease from approximately $180 to $50, resulting in estimated savings of around $130 per month, or $1,560 annually. Supported by the 5.12kWh lithium battery, the system can also provide backup power for essential household loads during grid interruptions. Based on projected energy savings, the estimated payback period is approximately 5 years.
